Lent and Holy Week

The forty days and forty nights of Lent are a solemn and reflective time of fasting, repentance, prayer and service. Christ Church is offering several opportunities to observe a Holy Lent.

Justice for the Poor Series

Tuesdays during Lent beginning at 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We will have a light supper followed by a short video from Jim Wallis’ Sojourners series on Christianity and the poor. For more information on this series, see the event page. This series is presented by Seek and Serve, the new social justice ministry.

Wednesdays during Lent

Women’s Bible Study – 10:30 a.m., Parish House

Worship with Eucharist & Healing (Laying on of Hands) 12:10 p.m.

Sundays during Lent

Worship services at 8 and 10 a.m.

Adult forum, 9 a.m. – “Last Things” explores issues around dying and preparation for death.

March 30 – Avenue United Methodist Church, Milford – Repeat of Dover program, at noon

Palm Sunday – April 9, services at 8 and 10 a.m.

Wednesday of Holy Week – Service at 12:10 p.m.

Maundy Thursday, March 13 – 5:30 p.m. Pot Luck Dinner – Parish Hall; 7 p.m., Instructional Eucharist & Stripping of the Altar – Church

Good Friday, April 14 – Noon Ecumenical Service, here at Christ Church followed by Way of the Cross Procession through downtown Dover; 7 p.m. Contemporary Stations of the Cross, Christ Church

Easter Sunday services – 8 and 10 a.m.; Easter Egg Hunt for the children immediately following the 110 a.m. service
